Filter Press
Filtration is well defined technology & is a vital operation where separation of solids from liquid become necessary, either to recover solid cake & remove unwanted liquid or remove toxic or other undesirable solid from waste steam or where the recovery of clean liquid or solids is necessary in recycling of valuable elements.
Filter Cloths
The most important considerations in choosing a fiber for filtration is the type of filtration and the environment in which filtration or dust collection will take place. The following should be taken into account:
- Type of Filtration: (a) Air or (b) Liquid
- Heat Resistance
- Chemical Resistance
- Physical Properties
Air Filtration – the most common objectives are purification (either incoming or outgoing) and recovery of a product. In some applications, the two can be combined for beneficial results. Many installations made for purposes of air pollution control have resulted in the recovery of a usable product.
Liquid Filtration – the three main objectives are refining a product, recovering a product and clarifying the filtrate. Filter cloth qualities for liquid filtration would include the ability to prevent passage of a solid material, allow an even flow of liquid, resist plugging, and ease of filter cake removal.
YEAST DRYER
Added value instead of waste When brewing beer, a side product occurs, named yeast. This product is usually treated as disposal. Beer yeast, however, contains valuable ingredients, such as amino acids, proteins and minerals. These ingredients can be re‐used in several (animal) food products. For this purpose developed an efficient drying process. First, the (beer) yeast is concentrated by means of Decanter centrifuge to the highest achievable dry solid content and subsequently it is dried on an ANDRITZ Gouda drum dryer, thus resulting in a favorable energy consumption. This process can also be used for yeast that remains from large scale alcohol production facilities.
